Kyofu Uchiha (うちはキョフ, Uchiha Kyofu) was originally a ninja from Konohagakure. After successfully faking his death, he went on to co-found the Supaku, and found refuge in Amegakure, where Pain announced him and his group to be mercenaries. Kyofu is currently the Amegakure Anbu Captain, and is under orders from the 2nd Supaku Leader.
Background[]
Kyofu was once part of the Uchiha Clan, one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure, before he faked his death and fled the village. The clan was later destroyed in the Uchiha Clan Downfall. Before his departure, Kyofu was reputed to be one of the village's most powerful shinobi. He cared about his family and friends, taking time to help them with their training and often enjoying meals at Ichiraku Ramen with them.
This was seen in a series of flashbacks from before the start of the series. Kyofu agreed to help his little brother Enpu with his shurikenjutsu training, after the latter came to him when neither their brother Kai nor their mother was nearby. Kyofu demonstrated and impressed his little brother with his Sharingan capabilities, challenging Enpu to a duel after he asked Kyofu how he accquired a fully developed Sharingan so quickly. Enpu was swiftly defeated, and the two shared a laugh at how soundly he lost the challenge. Kyofu later encountered his friend Kazema Senju in the village, who treated Kyofu to some ramen at Ichiraku Ramen. There they encountered Kyofu's brother Kai, who described to them his day training in the forest with Shisui and Itachi Uchiha. Both brothers teased each other with the fact that their mother forbade the both of them from leaving the Uchiha District in her absence, but did so anyway.
A day later, Kazema and Kyofu were sent on a mission to the Land of Rice Fields, instructed to demonstrate to a group of Academy students what missions would be like after they graduate as genin. Among the Academy students was Kyofu's younger brother, Enpu. Once everyone had gathered and prepared for departure, one of the Academy students snickered at Kyofu's professional introduction, and Kyofu threw a kunai at the child's feet, subtly threatening him.
As they approached the border, a man in a grey cloak appeared before them, blocking their path. When Kazema asked the mysterious individual to make way, the man launched an attack, assaulting the group with a barrage of kunai. Kazema managed to protect the children with a fire release jutsu, blocking the attack, but Kyofu, after activating his sharingan, was struck, and had been flung backwards into a tree. He demanded to know the man's reason for attacking them, but received no response.
The Academy students fled, but Enpu stayed, ready to fight. He proudly proclaimed that he would become the Sixth Hokage (六代目火影, Rokudaime Hokage, literally meaning: Sixth Fire Shadow), while his brother Kyofu would become the Fifth Hokage (五代目火影, Godaime Hokage). The man easily dodged or deflected all of Enpu's attacks. Kyofu cast Genjusu: Sharingan on the man. While he was distracted, Kyofu restrained him with Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique. Kyofu, knowing the illusion would not last for long, ordered Enpu to run, and the boy obeyed.
Before Enpu could get away, the cloaked man broke free from the genjutsu, and shot an energy blast his way. Kyofu jumped in front of Enpu, taking the hit for him and becoming severely injured. Kazema appeared at his side, intercepting another blow from the cloaked man. As Kyofu lay on the floor dying, he watched helplessly as Kazema was killed with a chakra wave slicing through his chest. The sight of his best friend's gruesome murder enraged Kyofu, and he unlocked his Mangekyō Sharingan. With it, he used Amaterasu to avenge his friend's death, but the cloaked man disappeared just as the flames made contact, revealing to everyone that he was only a shadow clone all along.
Enpu returned and saw Kazema on the ground dead, and Kyofu crying over the dead body. Kyofu picked up the body. " It's time to return to Konoha.", said Kyofu. " You are really hurt Kyofu.", said Enpu. " I don't care, I'll use my remaining chakra to teleport us to Konoha.", said Kyofu. He did some hand seals and they were at Konoha. Kyofu then fell down, Enpu called for help, and some medical-nin took care of him.
Kyofu awoke the next day in th hospital. The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, was standing in the room. " Kyofu Uchiha, you have encountered a member of the Akatsuki.", said Hiruzen. Kyofu was in shock. " The Akatsuki?", said Kyofu surprised. " Yes, apparently so. Everyone survived with minimum injuries, except Kazema Senju...", said Hiruzen. Kyofu looked off in sadness. " Your injuries were heavy, but not fatal, you will survive.", said Hiruzen. Kyofu nodded. Kai and Enpu walked into the room. " Kyofu, you idiot, why'd you have to go out and almost get yourself killed!? They probably sent mother a messenger bird already! I'm dead!", yelled Kai. Kyofu was depressed. " Sorry, Kai.", said Kyofu truly sorry.
Kyofu's injuries were fully healed, and he was in his house, mourning the death of Kazema. Enpu was off on a mission, and Kai was with Itachi, Shisui had recently died, somehow, so he wasn't with them. It was night already. He wondered where his brother and cousin were, they were usually back before midnight. He looked out into the night. Kyofu saw the bloodied bodies of his kin. " What's going on!?", he said to himself. Kyofu ran out into the street. He saw his mother's dead body on the ground, and he was greatly saddened and angered of the recent deaths, he scouted the city for the murderer. Kyofu saw Itachi killing everyone, he also saw another man, but he didn't know who. Kyofu jumped down to attack Itachi, but Itachi noticed. Kyofu kicked Itachi in the face. Kyofu kicked Itachi in the stomach, but Itachi wasn't even fazed. He then punched Kyofu in the stomach, using chakra to strengthen his attack. Every bone in Kyofu was shattered, every organ was ruptured, and all muscles were torn. Kyofu died shortly after.
Kyofu awoke later in the forest. Kai was standing over him. " Hello there Kyofu.", said Kai. Kai had his headband covering his right eye for some reason. " Your eye was injured during the fight with Itachi. I had to give you my eye, your ninja future is brighter than mine for sure.", said Kai. Kyofu was in shock. " How am I even alive? I was dead!", said Kyofu. " Yes you were, I revived you.", said Kai. " Thank you. Where's Enpu, did Itachi get to him!?", asked Kyofu. " Enpu hasn't returned yet, I beleive Itachi killed him before the attack on the Uchiha.", said Kai. Kyofu's face became depressed. " I will spend the rest of my days trying to grow more powerful, and then I WILL find Enpu, and kill Itachi.", said Kyofu. Kai didn't stop Kyofu. " Promise me, you will not waste your entire life trying, please the best thing to do is to revive the Uchiha clan.", said Kai. Kyofu nodded.
A year later, Kai had died after being fatally injured in a fight with the cloaked-man. Causing more emotional greif and sadness in Kyofu's heart. Then months afterwards he found out he had Senju-blood in him, as he was actually a relative of Kazema Senju, his best friend.
It had been 2 years since the Massacre of the Uchiha, and Kyofu was now one of the only two known Uchihas' left, Kyofu had been trying to gain power so he could kill Itachi Uchiha. Kyofu had joined the academy, and had graduated early. Kyofu was then put on team Arakari, a team that specialized in tracking and capturing. Kyofu was walking to his mission meeting point. Kyofu and his team had to escort a carpenter back to a the Land of Rice. It was a C-Rank mission, something that shouldn't even have danger. A member of Kyofu's team, Masuta, was complaing about how the mission was going to be boring, and the other member of the team, Aijin, told him to suck it up. Masuta continued to whine, and Aijin was yelling at him now. Kyofu had gotten angry, and threatened to kill the two if they continued to argue. The two stopped immediatley.
Soon enough, the Mayor walked up to the genin. “ Why hello there children.”, said the Mayor with a huge grin on his face. “ Hello, let's get this going immediately.”, said Kyofu impatiently. They walked in a triangle formation, the Mayor being in the middle. “ So, what are you the mayor of?”, asked Aijin while she was fixing her golden hair. “ Um...”, thought the Mayor. Kyofu noticed the Mayor's hesitation. “ He isn't even a mayor, he's an imposter!”, yelled Kyofu. The Mayor's eyes turned black. A man with pale skin and long black hair appeared. Kyofu recognized him as one of the Legendary Sannin, Orochimaru. “ Hello there, I see you're an Uchiha.”, said Orochimaru. Aijin backed away and started to run, Masuta was hiding behind a tree, trembling in his boots. Kyofu stood there, his katana unsheathed. “ Have you even awakened your Sharingan?”, asked Orochimaru. “ Of course I have. I have surpassed the normal Sharingan, I have the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.”, said Kyofu. Orochimaru smirked evilly. “I'm guessing you were trying to find more of Konoha's secrets.”, said Kyofu. Orochimaru only smirked, and nodded.
Aijin was far now. She stopped running to catch her breath. Orochimaru appeared in front of her, and she screamed in fear. Orochimaru was still standing in front of Kyofu, when the Orochimaru with Aijin appeared next to him. He grabbed Aijin, and dismissed the shadow clone. “ I have your dear friend hostage! What are you going to do now?”, asked Orochimaru evilly. “ I only want power, I don't care about the weak. If you want to kill her go on.”, said Kyofu coldly. Aijin was in shock. “ Kyofu-ai!”, she screamed in fright. Kyofu didn't pay attention to her screams. He was focused on how he could fight and kill Orochimaru. “How do I expect to fight Orochimaru, his power exceeds mine by far!”, thought Kyofu. “ I have it!”, thought Kyofu figuring out a strategy. Kyofu activated his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, he jumped next to Masuta. “ What are you doing Kyofu?”, asked Masuta scared for his life. Kyofu grabbed Masuta, and threw him at Orochimaru, Orochimaru turned to look at Masuta, he used his Kusanagi to stab through Masuta's chest. Orochimaru was puzzled about the whereabouts of Kyofu. Kyofu was charging at him with his katana.
Orochimaru smirked evilly, he dropped his Kusanagi and put Aijin in front of him. Kyofu smirked evilly. “ I already told you! I don't care if they die or not! They are just a pawn in my chess game for power!”, yelled Kyofu, he slashed Orochimaru's body in half along with Aijin's. Orochimaru was laughing. “ Perfect! Thank you for the battle Uchiha, now I have enough information on your abilities.”, said Orochimaru, his body turned into a bunch of white snakes, and they slithered off into the bushes. Kyofu saw his comrades corpses. Masuta was still dying. “ Why? Why Kyofu?”, asked Masuta. Kyofu stared at Masuta. “ Greater power, there is someone I have to kill, and I can't kill him without powering up. You and Aijin are just pawns in my search for greater power. You guys wouldn't have amounted to anything anyways.”, said Kyofu. He pointed his index finger at Masuta. He shot a tiny flame thrower, engulfing Masuta's body in black flames.
A boy about Kyofu's age, named Tsuchi Hyuga walked through the bushes. Kyofu looked at the Hyuga. “ What do you want?”, asked Kyofu. “ I know that you are on a search for ultimate power.”, said Tsuchi. “ Yeah, what's it to you?”, said Kyofu. “ I am forming a team of shinobi with the most potential, and I hear you have a true reason to get more power.”, said Tsuchi. “ So are you wanting me to join you?”, asked Kyofu. “ Yes I am.”, said Tsuchi. Kyofu and Tsuchi stared into each other's eyes. “ I see you have the same eyes as me, figuratively of course.”, said Tsuchi. Kyofu looked puzzled. “ Eyes of betrayal, and loneliness.”, said Tsuchi. Kyofu smirked. “ I will join you on the quest for greater power.”, said Kyofu. Before they went on to find more shinobi, Kyofu burried the corpses of the genin he had sacrificed. “ May they rest in peace.”, said Kyofu, walking away with Tsuchi.
Next they went for an Ino-Shika-Cho team. First up was the Shika, Shikakira of the Nara clan is known for his intelligence, ninjutsu that entails the manipulation of shadows, and tending of deer such as Rikumaru, which graze in a large area of the Nara clan forest. He keeps a copy of a book with medicine preparations and effects that has been passed down for generations which imply that he is skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi Clan. Shikakira was in his room studying about the Akatsuki. He found them really interesting for some reason. His parents had been killed during the attack of the Nine-Tails, so, anything that could possibly keep the nine-tails sealed away forever interested him. He flipped through the book very fast, as he was able to read very fast. The sun was about to set, and he had heard about the tragic murder of two genin from Team Arakari, and that one, had disappeared. Every jonin squad leader were on duty. They had heard it had something to do with Orochimaru. Shikakira was looking out the window, when the door opened. It was his jonin squad leader, Tengoku Sarutobi. “ I am pretty sure you have heard about the recent murders of those two genin.”, said Tengoku. Shikakira looked back, “Of course I have.”. “ Well, I want you to stay in your room for now, my squads have always been like children to me.”, said Tengoku. “ Whoever said I wanted a father.”, said Shikakira. Tengoku shocked walked out of the room. Shikakira looked through out of his window. He saw the holder of the demon that ruined his life, a 10 year old, Naruto Uzumaki. Shikakira stared at Naruto in anger. “ You, damned beast, you will pay.”, said Shikakira. He jumped out of the window and landed behind Naruto. Naruto frightened turned around. Shikakira's eyes were cold. “ Naruto...”, he said angrily. “ What do you want with the future Hokage?”, asked Naruto. Shikakira grew angry hearing the arrogance of a demon. He put his hand out, he started to control Naruto's shadow. Naruto couldn't move. “ What are you doing!?”, yelled Naruto. Shikakira kept controlling the body of the jinchuriki. Naruto started to scream and yell. Soon enough shinobi started to surround Shikakira.
Tengoku appeared last. “ Shikakira!”, yelled Tengoku. Tengoku grabbed a Fuma Shuriken, and threw it at Shikakira. Shikakira took control of the fuma shuriken by taking control of it's shadow. He repelled it back at Tengoku, slicing off Tengoku's right arm. Shikakira was then restrained by earth release jutsus. “ Let me go!”, yelled Shikakira. The jonin grabbed Shikakira, and took him to the prison. Tsuchi and Kyofu were in cloaks and masks on rooftops watching the whole thing. “ You think Shikakira is perfect for joining us?”, asked Kyofu. Tsuchi nodded his head. “ We will get him after the Ino and Cho of the Ino-Shika-Cho meet their destinies.”, said Tsuchi. Tsuchi was smiling evilly from under his mask.
Inochi is apart of the Yamanaka clan, a family of ninja found in Konohagakure. She specializes in mind related techniques, and she and her family own and run a flower shop in the village. Inochi specializes in mind-centered techniques which makes her an expert at intelligence gathering and espionage. 'She has also displayed sensory abilities and her techniques include transferring consciousness, reading minds and communicating telepathically.
Choha is apart of the Akimichi clan, one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure. Choha possess great physical strength and is able to quickly convert calories into chakra, which he then uses in his various secret techniques. Most of these techniques rapidly consume Choha's chakra during use, and maintaining them during a prolonged battle can be tiring. For this reason Choha has a high chakra level and eats a lot in order to build up or replenish his chakra reserves.
Inochi Yamanaka was in her flower shop watering her lilies. Choha walked inside, eating a snack as usual. Choha sat down next to an apple tree. “ Did you here about Shikakira?”, asked Inochi, she looked worried. “ Of course *munch*, he tried to kill some kid *munch*, he is suspected to be the one who killed the genin earlier today.”, said Choha munching on his snack. Inochi looked at her plants sadly. “ I wish we could help him.”, said Inochi. Tsuchi and Kyofu walked into the flower shop. “ Welcome to the Yamanaka Flower Shop.”, greeted Inochi. Tsuchi and Kyofu took off their masks. Choha looked at them. “ A Hyuga and an Uchiha *munch*, hey are you the Uchiha who disappeared?”, asked Choha. Kyofu smirked. “ Yes, now, we overheard you're conversation about saving your friend.”, said Kyofu. “ We do, but how are we supposed to do that?”, asked Choha. “ Konoha has betrayed us all, your friend was set up, that child was an exact clone of Naruto Uzumaki created by an ANBU member.”, said Tsuchi. Choha and Inochi were shocked. “ We know what's going to happen to you two also, Inochi, the ANBU will try to kill you by burning down the Yamanaka Flower Shop.”, said Kyofu. Inochi was puzzled. “ I'd get out of here now.”, said Tsuchi. Tsuchi and the other three walked out of the building. An ANBU member was on the roof, he used a fire jutsu to set the building on fire, the building exploded in ashes, and the ANBU member disappeared. Inochi was in shock, she fell to her knees while her family's pride and joy was burned down. Choha tried to comfort her. “ It's time to save Shikakira.”, said Inochi seriously.
The four ran on the roofs to get to the prison. Tsuchi activated his Byakugan to see through the walls and find Shikakira's cell. Tsuchi motioned for everyone to follow. Tsuchi jumped near the wall, and used his Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm to break a hole in the wall. The three others ran through the prison halls. They made it to Shikakira's cell. “ Inochi? Choha?”, said Shikakira shocked. Inochi and Choha nodded, Choha bent the cell bars. Shikakira was restricted from using his hands by handcuffs. Choha grabbed him and threw him over his shoulder. Tsuchi broke through the wall behind the cell. The ninja jumped out of the prison. Kyofu still in midair, used his Blaze Release to destroy the prison. He jumped back with the others.
“ Let's go!”, said Tsuchi. They started to run into the forest. On the run, Kyofu and Tsuchi told the Ino-Shika-Cho team about what the ANBU had done to Tsuchi and Kyofu. They then told Shikakira what the ANBU had done to him. Shikakira filled with rage decided to join. “ I will get revenge on Danzo, I promise!”, said Shikakira. Choha was still eating his snack. “ I will join too! Seeing the pain they have brought upon my friends has greatly angered me, and plus, I am in search of power!”, said Choha. Inochi looked down at the ground. “ I feel bad for betraying those who gave me their love and friendship...”, said Inochi. Shikakira and Choha looked at Inochi teammate seriously. “ You have great potential, Konoha is trying to kill you because of this potential, but whatever you want.”, said Tsuchi. Inochi stared into the dark night sky. “ Okay, I'll do it!”, cheered Inochi. Shikakira and Choha smiled. “ Great!”, said Choha.
Kyofu and Tsuchi stood their seriously. “ We must find four more ninja.”, said Tsuchi. He and the others looked at Tsuchi solemnly. “ Kyofu, you're strong enough to go on a mission alone, you will go find a kunoichi named Kizoku Kaguya in Kirigakure.”, said Tsuchi. “ A Kaguya huh? That sounds exciting! Their power is extraordinary!”, said Kyofu. “ Shikakira, you will go alone to Kirigakure to find a kunoichi named Suito Hozuki.”, said Tsuchi. Shikakira nodded. “ Inochi and Choha, go find Ashi Inuzuka, a shinobi who lives in Konoha nearby, he uses ninken, and he is fiercly loyal to Konoha, so he will probably put up a fight.”, said Tsuchi. Inochi nodded, and Choha responded by eating his sandwich. “ I will be going after an Uzumaki in the ruins of Uzugakure.”, said Tsuchi. Everyone prepared to hunt down their targets. Tsuchi put on his glove. “ I expect nothing less than success from all of you! Now, go!”, ordered Tsuchi. Everyone jumped into the trees.
Kyofu went to a lake near Kirigakure. " This is the Land of Water, I hate it.", said Kyofu. He was travelling with Shikakira, as their targets were both in Kirigakure. Two young 12 year old girls walked in. They were going skinny dipping. Shikakira had a nose-bleed and passed out, and Kyofu was in shock at Shikakira's reaction. " Pervert.", said Kyofu. " We'll just have to wait untill they get done.", said Kyofu. Kyofu activated his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Shikakira was watching in amazement. " Are you always like this?", asked Kyofu. " Kinda, have you ever heard of the Toad Sage, Jiraiya? He stopped by the village awhile back, and he showed me the ways of the Toad Sage!", laughed Shikakira.
They had to wait for 30 minutes before the girls came out and got dressed. " It's time!", said Kyofu to Shikakira. Shikakira was saddened by them getting dressed. Kyofu jumped from the low ground mist. He landed behind them. " Who are you?", asked Kizoku Kaguya. " I am Kyofu Uchiha, I am recruiting you to join me and a group of ninja, to get revenge on Konoha.", said Kyofu. " How long have you been there?", asked Suito Hozuki. " 30 minutes.", said Kyofu. " We've been in the water for 30 minutes! You were watching us the whole time!?", screamed Kizoku. Shikakira jumped in. " He wasn't watching, but I did!", said Shikakira smirking. Suito tackled him. She turned her body into water, and started to suffocate Shikakira.
Kyofu was going into help, but he was hit by bullets made of bone. " I would stop if I were you!", yelled Kyofu. Kizoku smirked. " I forgot, Kaguyas are ignorant bloodthirsty idiots, you would never listen to reason, unless I showed you!", yelled Kyofu. Kizoku grew angry.Kyofu called upon Susanoo, and Susanoo easily defeated Kizoku, sending her far into the lake. Kyofu then used his Fireball Jutsu, the evaporate some of Suito, to get her to stop suffocating Shikakira. Suito was crying on the ground. " Why would you do that!?", asked Suito. Shikakira was breathing heavily.
Kyofu looked Suito in the eyes. Suito and Kyofu were now in a genjutsu. " Where are we!?", asked Suito. In your mind, said Kyofu, his voice was now Suito's conscious, and Suito in the outside world was knocked out. " Why are we here?", asked Suito. Just to subdue you, said Kyofu. Kyofu was still awake and he was carrying Suito back to the meeting place. Shikakira had Kizoku in shadow chains, and he was following Kyofu. Kyofu dropped Suito, and Suito broke away from the genjutsu. " You are joining whether you like it or not.", said Kyofu. Suito noticed Kyofu's determenation, and how sad he looks and she looked away. Kizoku agreed after they said there'd be alot of battle involved. When everyone made it back, they made their way to Amegakure, where they made ties to the Akatsuki and made a base.
Personality []
Kyofu is a brutal, merciless ninja. He is arrogant, and cold to enemy ninja, especially to Konoha Anbu ninja, as he hates Danzo Shimura for how he destroyed his life. As a child, he was nice and brotherly. He never gave up trying to get stronger, so he can protect himself and his loved ones. He was best friends with Kazema untill his death, Danzo feared that if a Senju and an Uchiha were to befriend each other they would fight to the death like Hashirama and Madara. He used to love being with his other ninja before the deaths. He still trains himself dangerously in his clan's secret arts. He used to respect the Anbu and other higher ups. But that changed after the Uchiha Clan Massacre.
He is very loving to Suito and his son, Suien Uchiha. He likes to train with his partners: Fuin Uzumaki, Kyofu Uchiha and Ashi Inuzuka. During their fights with the Konoha 11, he learned that all ninja have a different way, not just one, the way of murder. He is heavily determined as he still went after Naruto, even when he went into 4-tailed form. Kyofu is also very obedient as he follows orders without asking questions.
His attitude has also gained him some "fangirls", which greatly annoys him. He is also very charming and kind to his close ones, because they are all they had. He broke down in tears after finding out his little brother, Enpu, was alive. He also cried after Shikakira was killed on a mission.
Appearance[]
Despite being an infamous shinobi, Kyofu's appearance is not the most intimidating, apart from the intensity of his gaze. While living in Konoha, he would regularly have a gentle look in his eyes, especially directed towards his younger brother. After his losses and his joining of Supaku, they would regularly have a stern look to them. Kyofu is a young man with onyx eyes, and jet-black hair that goes to the middle of his back. He has hair covering his left eye, extending to his chin. Kyofu's most distinguishing feature, like his cousin, are the long, pronounced tear-troughs under his eyes. When he lived in Konoha, his casual clothes consisted of a grey shirt with the Uchiha clan symbol on the back with bandages around his ankles and black sandals. He also wore blood red pants with a weapons pouch strapped to his back. While his hair was worn in a ponytail, his bangs were considerably shorter; accentuating his forehead. As a member of Supaku, he wore a Amegakure forehead protector and a cloak with the Uchiha clan symbol on the shoulders. Under his cloak was revealed that he wore similar clothes to that of the of Akatsuki. His attire consisted of mesh armour with black accents under an identical T-shirt with a simple white belt around the waist, and blood red pants. He wears a necklace which has three silver rings.
Abilities[]
While still a child, Kyofu is hailed as a brilliant ninja, even by the battle-adept Uchiha clan's standards, showing an undeniable prodigious talent and keen intellect to excel at all that he does. From this, he finds little difficulty in more challenging tasks as seen during his time in the Academy. Scoring the highest in the performance tests and one of the highest in written tests, he easily graduated at the top of his Academy class. Kyofu has great knowledge if not proficiency in all of his clan's techniques, despite his lack of formal training by relying solely on his innate talent and determination. His abilities have been compared to various remarkable individuals like Kakashi Hatake, who was also hailed a a genius even as a child. Tobi, Itachi, and Orochimaru have all stated that Kyofu possesses the unique potential to become much stronger than his Itachi, who was already considered a genius above all others. Orochimaru even noted that Kyofu is far stronger than he was at the same age when he was when he hired him as a mercenary. Tobi has also stated that in time, Kyofu could become more powerful than Nagato. Not one for prolonged fights, Kyofu's stamina was below average and it was noted in Part I that he could only use the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan for two times a day before he needed a significant amount of rest. Even with that, and Kyofu's health failing, along with the fact that he was holding back, Fuin still could not defeat him during a fight in Part II. He is a technical pacifist due to traumatic experiences from his childhood, Kyofu did not actively take part in battle, only acting in self-defence, and mostly incapacitating his enemies instead of killing them if possible.
Uchiha Clan Abilities[]
Kyofu and the deceased Uchihas were famous for their powerful chakra, exceptionally strong techniques, and natural aptitude for anything combat-related. The clan possessed an innate aptitude for Fire Release nature transformation, with even the youngest of members able to use it from just observation. As such they have created several and use this nature transformation more skilfully than any other. Kyofu's signature technique was the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. Kyofu wasnot recognised as an adult by the rest of the clan until he could successfully use this technique. The Uchiha were also highly known for their mastery of ninja tools. They themselves invented many shuriken move sets which required the use of thin metal wires, one example being the Windmill Triple Blades technique. They were apparently also somewhat skilled in barrier ninjutsu, having created the Uchiha Flame Battle Encampment which, still holding to their natural affinity for fire, created a barrier that burned whatever came in contact with it.
Sharingan []
The Sharingan's abilities consist of two parts: the "Eye of Insight" (洞察眼, Dōsatsugan) and the "Eye of Hypnotism" (催眠眼, Saimingan). The first of the Sharingan's powers is being able to see chakra flow. The Sharingan itself gives colour to chakra, allowing Kyofu to differentiate them. He is also able to tell if a person is under a genjutsu because Kyofu's chakra flow would be irregular. The Sharingan's second-most prominent ability grants Kyofu an incredible clarity of perception, allowing him to easily recognise genjutsu and different forms of chakra, though not to the same extent as the Byakugan. This also allows Kyofu to pick up on subtle details, enabling him to read lip movements or mimic something like pencil movements. As the Sharingan evolves, gaining more tomoe, this ability extends to being able to track fast-moving objects before finally giving some amount of predictive capabilities to Kyofu, allowing him to see the image of an attacker's next move from the slightest muscle tension in their body and counter-attack or dodge without any wasted movement. However, even though Kyofu may be able to see an attack or know it is coming, his body may not always have time to react
The Sharingan's third and most well-known ability is that it grants Kyofu the ability to copy almost any technique that he witnesses, apart from other kekkei genkai techniques. Kyofu can memorise ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near-perfect accuracy, allowing Kyofu to use the techniques as his own, or even modify them to create his own new techniques. In order to reproduce a copied technique, however, one must have the necessary skill or ability to perform them. In addition to physical skill and kekkei genkai techniques, the Sharingan cannot reproduce techniques dependent on other factors, such as summons that the user has not signed a contract with.
The Sharingan's final commonly-used ability is capable of inducing a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent through genjutsu cast by simple eye contact between both parties. Kyofu can take the hypnosis ability even further to the point where a powerful summon or even a tailed beast may be controlled.
The hypnotic ability coupled with the other aspects of the Sharingan can make Kyofu appear as if he can "see the future". First, Kyofu must perfectly mimic every move his opponent makes and possibly their thoughts and words through careful observation. Then, he suggests an action to the opponent such as hand seals for a technique that the opponent and Sharingan Kyofu already knows and copies that. With these things done, Kyofu can complete the action even before the opponent does, possibly using the Sharingan's genjutsu to confuse or delay them. As with other genjutsu, genjutsu cast by the Sharingan are capable of putting an opponent to sleep, inducing paralysis, replaying memories to someone else via genjutsu, or creating various illusions to deceive someone. The potency of the Sharingan's illusion is dependent on Kyofu's current knowledge and skill with implementing genjutsu. Two Sharingan users are also able to free each other from other forms of genjutsu by first using genjutsu on each other, allowing them to enter their comrades mind and free each other from the genjutsu.
In addition, more rarely used by the Uchiha clan, the Sharingan can allow Kyofu to perform two very powerful and unique genjutsu: Izanagi and Izanami, which alters or decide one's destiny, respectively. Using Izanagi, Kyofu can warp reality for a short amount of time, changing reality into illusion and illusion into reality, thus escaping death and rewriting destiny; he can make use of this technique to its full extent, as he has the DNA of both the Uchiha and Senju. Izanami, on the other hand, is a genjutsu that traps the victim in an infinite loop disregarding their five senses; this technique was specifically created to counter anyone who would abuse Izanagi's ability to alter their destiny, by forcing the victims to relive the situation over and over until they accept it and cease using Izanagi. Both techniques have been labelled kinjutsu, because use of either causes the eye that performed Izanagi or Izanami to close forever.
Kyofu is so masterful with the Sharingan that he was able to keep it active for most of the time, only once deactivating it after using Tsukuyomi, as well as Amaterasu. He can keep it activated so long as he has Senju cells that boosts his vitality.
Mangekyo Sharingan[]
The Mangekyō Sharingan has the ability to control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. It also grants Kyofu access to other powerful techniques. The Mangekyō Sharingan is distinguished from a normal Sharingan by its appearance, which changes the form of the tomoe seal. Unlike the Sharingan, the appearance of the Mangekyō Sharingan differs from user to user with all known wielders of the dōjutsu having eyes that resemble variations of pinwheels.
The Mangekyō Sharingan is awakened through the trauma experienced from the death of a person very close to the Sharingan user. With the user normally having to witness or experience this first hand, Uchiha throughout history have killed a person very close to them in order to expedite this process. To obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan, one must feel the emotion of losing a friend or family, as merely killing them or watching them die will not activate it.
Over time, use of the Mangekyō Sharingan's techniques deteriorates the user's eyesight to the point of blindness. Only by taking and transplanting the Mangekyō of another Uchiha — integrating the two pairs of eyes in the process — can the vision be restored, a process that results in the creation of an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. It would appear that the tighter the blood ties are between the "donor" and the "receiver", the better it is for compatibility — a sibling for example seems to make the best donor. The time from fusing the donor's Mangekyō with the receiver's Mangekyō to the point of full recovery is at least several days.Not only does this process permanently restore one's eyesight, but it also gives the person even greater increases in power. The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan also changes form from the original Mangekyō form, to what appears to be a fusion of the wielder's own Mangekyō with the transplanted one. If an Uchiha with the Mangekyō Sharingan is reincarnated through the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation technique, they gain the ability to use the Mangekyō Sharingan for extended periods of time without complaints of any deteriorating vision, as seen in Itachi's case.

Chūnin Exams[]

Kyofu was with his three partners: Tsuchi Hyuga, Fuin Uzumaki and Ashi Inuzuka, when Konon appeared to tell them orders from Pain. They were ordered to attend the Chunin Exams, going under the persona of Genin from Amegakure. They had to wear masks so that those they once knew in Konoha would not recognize them. They were to exam the genin's strength. Then Nagato teleported them just outside of Konoha. Someone lured Ginmaru, Ashi's ninken, into the woods, forcing the others to follow. The person was Orochimaru, Kyofu was completely surprised at his appearance. Orochimaru asked them to join him in the Invasion of Konoha, to which they agreed to, for 200,000 ryo.
The first part of the exam, proctored by Ibiki Morino, was written, but it was not a test of knowledge as much as a test of information-gathering and willpower. The first nine questions were supposed to be obtained by cheating, where the genin must use any techniques to find out the correct answer without being caught. Kyofu used his Sharingan to copy other people's answers. The 10th question was a do or die question: because if he didn't answer, or he answered it incorrectly, it would mean his mission was a failure. Most of the genin left, but he stayed, and he noted those who left "weak". Kyofu couldn't figure out what the answer was, but Ibiki stated that those who chose to answer all passed the first part of the Chunin Exams.
The second part of the exam was proctored by Anko Mitarashi, it was a survival exam in the Fourty Fourth Training Ground, also known as "The Forest of Death". Some Konoha Genin, one being Konohamaru Sarutobi, grandson of the Third Hokage appeared and gave interviews. Konohamaru interviewed Kyofu. Kyofu stated that he was an Uchiha, to which Sasuke looked at him suspiciously. He also stated that he only wanted one thing, and that was power. Kyofu ended it by talking about how Amegakure will rise above the Five Great Shinobi Countries. Eight genin from Kumo grew angry at Kyofu and his team's talking about how "Amegakure will rise above them all" and how Fuin stated "I'm the number one shinobi, Fuin Uzumaki, you know it!".
When Kyofu and his team entered the Forest of Death, the eight genin attacked immediatly. Kyofu used his crow clones to kill two of them easily. Kyofu then stated he was going to find Sasuke Uchiha. He then noticed that Orochimaru had already gotten to him. Kyofu and his teammates split up to pick off the weaker genin. Kyofu killed many of them, and turned into a crow to meet the rest of his team at the tower in the center of the forest.
Eight other teams managed to pass, which was more than twice as many that Kyofu expected to be alive. To cut down the prevailing genin from the second exam, the proctors set a stage before the third and final stage of the Chunin Exams. The twenty five genin - twenty four, because their ally, Kabuto withdrew-were to be matched up with each other. The first fight was Sasuke Uchiha vs. their ally Yoroi Akado. Sasuke won, Kyofu knew that Sasuke would win because of the Uchiha blood in Sasuke's body . Next was their ally Zaku Abumi vs. Shino Aburame. Shino won, Kyofu noted him to be the stronger genin. Third was their ally Misumi Tsurugi vs. Kankuro. Kankuro won, and Kyofu noticed that Kankuro was brothers with the jinchuriki of the One-Tailed. The fourth match was Sakura Haruno vs Ino Yamanaka, it was a double K.O. and both of them lost, so Kyofu noted that they were both weak. The fifth match was Tenten vs Temari. Temari brutally defeated Tenten, and Kyofu noted that Tenten was dangerously strong. The sixth match was their ally Kin Tsuchi vs Shikamaru Nara, to which Kin was defeated. Kyofu noted that Shikamaru was very intelligent, and should be watched out for. Naruto Uzumaki, Pain's target, the jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails Demon Fox was matched up with Kiba Inuzuka. Naruto ended up beating Kiba by passing gass, and Kyofu was shocked and shook his head, noting that Naruto was a failure. The next match was Hinata Hyuga vs Neji Hyuga, he noticed Tsuchi was watching more intensly. Tsuchi noted that Neji would emerge the winner, to which Tsuchi was write, and Neji easily defeated Hinata. The ninth match was Gaara the jinchuriki of Gaara of the Sand, another one of Pain's targets, was fighting against Rock Lee. Gaara mercilessly defeated Lee, and even made Lee unable to ever be a ninja due to his intense injuries. Tenth match was Choji Akimichi vs their ally Dosu Kinuta. Dosu defeated Choji, making Kyofu happy that an ally made it to the finals.
The eleventh match was Tsuchi's fight against Oni Hokori, a genin from Kumogakure. Tsuchi mercilessly defeated Oni with his gentle fist, causing Oni severe internal damage. Tsuchi then temporarily closed Oni's chakra pathway. Making Tsuchi the winner.
The twelfth match up was Fuin vs. Ningyo from Kumogakure. Ningyo and Fuin were at parr, untill Ningyo demonstrated his use of poison, he had cut Fuin's left arm with a poisoned kunai that would soon spread to his heart. After hearing this, Fuin used a seal to seal his arm in another deminsion. Fuin then switched arms with Ningyo, his arm was still poisoned and the poison then left the arm and made it to the heart. While Ningyo was being taken away by Medical-Nin, Fuin switched his arm again, giving Ningyo his arm back.
Kyofu's match was next, he was fighting against the sister of Ningyo and Oni, Nihonjin. Much to everyone's surprise, Kyofu activated Susanoo, which ultimately defeated Nihonjin. Nihonjin expressed that she was fighting to avenge her brothers because of Kyofu's team merciless fighting. Kyofu used a genjutsu to put Nihonjin to sleep. The last match was supposed to be Ashi vs. a Kiri-nin named Nami Shiwa, but Nami was killed sometime during the transission between fights, giving Ashi a win by default.
After the preliminary match-ups, there was a one-month period in which the remaining genin could prepare themselves. Various dignitaries were also invited to watch the main matches. During this month, Kyofu and Tsuchi returned to Amegakure to report to Pain. Fuin and Ashi stayed in Konoha, and Fuin found out about Jiraiya returning to town. Jiraiya saw Fuin, but when Jiraiya turned around Fuin was gone, and Jiraiya noticed something suspicious was going on. Also, during the month of training, Dosu, who was trying to sneak up on and kill Gaara, was ripped to shreds by him. Hayate was murdered by Baki, the jōnin of the Sand Siblings, after he overheard Baki talking with Kabuto about their plans to invade Konoha. Gaara also attempted to assassinate Lee in the hospital on the day before the finals, but was stopped by Naruto and Shikamaru. Gaara revealed his past, which led to Naruto's realising that they had similar histories of prejudice, before Guy stepped in and forced Gaara to leave. Fuin activated a seal that all of his teammates had on the back of their neck to teleport Kyofu and Tsuchi back to Konoha for the Finals. Due to the fact that Hayate Gekkō was murdered during the one month break, Genma Shiranui became the proctor for the final exam. The first match was Naruto against Neji. Naruto's fight with Neji in the first match of the finals was a very dramatic one. During the fight, Neji lectured Naruto much as he had done with Hinata during the preliminaries, telling Naruto that failures remained failures and that this could not change. Naruto eventually won the battle through a combination of the demon fox's power sealed within him and sheer belief in victory. In the process, he changed Neji's outlook on life, and inspired him to create his own fate, thus forming another important bond. Naruto was able to make Neji understand that destiny could be changed, and they became good friends from that point on. Kyofu noted that Naruto was one of the strongest genin in Konoha. The second match, which featured Sasuke versus Gaara, was moved to be the last, as Sasuke hadn't arrived yet. Normally he would have been disqualified on the spot, but his match had been highly anticipated — in fact, some of the crowd commented they had mostly come just to see him fight, forcing the Third Hokage to give in to the Kazekage's request to postpone the match. The third match, which featured Shino versus Kankurō, was given to Shino on default, since Kankurō forfeited to "keep his techniques a secret" before the invasion was launched. Kyofu grew angry at Kankuro for being such a weakling, The fourth match was Temari versus Shikamaru. Both Temari and Shikamaru were excellent strategists, but Shikamaru was better. Although it appeared throughout the match that Shikamaru was using pointless attacks, he was actually five steps ahead, and managed to skilfully manipulate Temari into a position where he could attack from behind, using the tunnel which Naruto had dug during his match with Neji to stealthily extend his Shadow Imitation Technique. This took control over Temari's body, and forced her to imitate every one of Shikamaru's movements. Although Shikamaru could have won, he quit instead, saying that he was too low on chakra. His real reason for quitting, however, seems to be because he is incredibly lazy and saw no point in winning, which would only lead to having to fight in further matches. He also didn't want to hurt a girl. Kyofu then noted that Shikamaru was to be watched out for. Kyofu and his team forfeited as they wanted to save their power for the invasion. Gaara versus Sasuke came around again. This was the battle that the crowd had been looking forward to. Sasuke arrived right on time as the match was about to begin (in the anime, Sasuke arrived late, but the waiting time was extended again because of the importance of the match). Sasuke demonstrated that his speed had vastly increased, to the point where the sand guarding Gaara could not keep up. Sasuke also demonstrated Chidori, a technique he had learned from Kakashi and Kakashi's only original technique, to injure Gaara. Before the match could finish, however, a smoke bomb was set off in the Kages' box. Kabuto, who was actually working for Orochimaru, used the genjutsu to put almost everybody in the crowd to sleep, and the Invasion of Konoha commenced.
Konoha Crush[]

Kyofu and Fuin were running through the village fighting off Konoha-nin. Kyofu jumped into the Kage's office to look for top-secret information on Konoha kinjutsu, info on the Jonin and Chunin, and the A-rank techniques and Hiden of the village. After they got enough information they left the Kage's Office. They then went back to the arena to fight some shinobi, two of them were especially important, Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake, the latter Kyofu fought. Kakashi was destroying Kyofu, and then Kakashi used Lightning Blade to create a giant slash across Kyofu's chest. Kyofu grew angry at the damage Kakashi had caused him and he brought out his special move, Blaze Release: Burezuburedo, causing his hand to be engulfed in black flames. He then hit Kakashi with it full force, but it proved to be harmless against the Jonin, Kyofu then fainted from exhaustion.
He awoke later in the Supaku lair, and was getting medical help from Suito Hozuki. She told him that his injuries were minor but he used too much of his chakra and if he had used one more attack he would've died from exhaustion. Kyofu then went with Tsuchi and Ashi to meet Orochimaru, and give him some information that they got from the Kage's Office.
Sasuke Recovery Mission[]

Kyofu and Fuin were hired by Orochimaru again to watch over Sasuke and the Sound Four as they made their way to Otogakure. Kyofu specifically watched over Sasuke.Kyofu also noted that Naruto Uzumaki had a brotherly relationship with Kyofu's little cousin Sasuke Uchiha. Kyofu noticed how Sasuke's strength had grown and he was impressed by Sasuke's performance. After Naruto had lost, Kyofu and Fuin teleported to Orochimaru and told him that the Sound Four was destroyed and that Sasuke had made it out alive and was on his way. Kyofu and Fuin then returned to Amegakure.
The 5 Strongest members of the Supaku (In order of power is: Tsuchi Hyuga, Ashi Inuzuka, Kyofu, Tengoku Buki, and Shikakira Nara) then arrived at the Akatsuki layer to gain orders for their plans for the next 3 years.
Supaku Fight Arc[]
Kyofu and his three main teammates were ordered by Pain to track down the Konoha 11, and dispose of them. They were to also make sure that Naruto Uzumaki was taken hostage and taken back to Pain. Kyofu was put in charge of Naruto as his Mangekyo Sharingan could take control of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. Kyofu and his team arrived and blocked the Konoha 11's path, Kyofu went straight for Naruto and started to fight him. Kyofu kicked Naruto into a tree, when Hinata Hyuga started to attack, Kyofu used his new and improved Burezuburedo, He severely injured Hinata, and sent her flying.Naruto was enraged and went into his two-tailed state, Naruto then attacked Kyofu, destroying his cloak. Kyofu then used his Mangekyo Sharingan to take control of Naruto. When Fuin was about to unseal the Nine-Tails when Tsuchi told him not to unseal the nine-tails and to leave along with him. Kyofu was angry and said he'd blame Tsuchi if Pain were furious. Kyofu was waiting for Tsuchi when he decided to go back to Konoha for a short amount of time. Kyofu returned to Konoha in his casual wear. People were surprised to see someone who they thought was dead. A man said that a young boy who looked like Kyofu was looking for him, Kyofu wondered who, he asked who the boy was and if he got his name. The man said the boy didn't give his name, Kyofu was angered by this answer and he disappeared.
Kyofu was on his giant summoned raven named Karasu, and was on his way back to Amegakure. He saw a boy fighting off a group of bandits. Kyofu felt bad for the boy, for some reason, Kyofu created two raven clones and jumped off Karasu, his katana in his hands. Kyofu and his clones easily defeated the bandits. The boy reminded him of someone. The boy said thanks to Kyofu and started to walk away. Kyofu noticed how to boy looked like a Senju with the onyx eyes of an Uchiha. He also noticed how the boy was sixteen, the same age that Enpu would be if he were still alive. Kyofu then had the idea that the boy could be Enpu, but he wanted to do it in a more "exciting" way.
Kyofu followed the boy into Takigakure, the boy was resting near one of the many waterfalls. Kyofu then threw a kunai at the boy, the boy noticed the kunai and dodged. The boy used a gautlet to shoot a barrage of shuriken, Kyofu dodged them all. Kyofu then created a raven clone of himself, the boy saw this and decided to use a secret technique. The boy saw this and used Wood Release to destroy the clone, while Kyofu was still charging at him. The boy activated the Sharingan, where he had only three tomoe. The boy was about to use a fire release, when Kyofu turned himself into a conspirancy of ravens, he then made all of the ravens ariel ace the boy. The boy seeing through the attack used a fire release to burn the ravens, turning them back into Kyofu. Kyofu smiled and walked up to the boy. The boy, completely out of chakra was scared at what Kyofu was about to do, Kyofu then hugged the boy. The boy was surprised. Kyofu then said his name to the boy, making the boy cry. The boy said he was Enpu Uchiha. Kyofu let go of his little brother and said he wants Enpu to join the Supaku in Amegakure, to which Enpu agreed to happily.

Kyofu and Enpu were sparring when Tsuchi walked into the training room. Tsuchi told the two of an oncoming threat of war between the Akatsuki and Konohagakure. In the alternate reality, Kyofu is a smooth-talking loverboy who likes to peep in the girl's washing room, all of this is due to the fact the events of the Uchiha massacre never occurred. He flirts with every girl in town, and when he wasn't flirting, he was sitting around with his siblings and teammates, being lazy.
