Hitomi (ひとみ, Hitomi) is an S-class missing-nin from Takigakure, the younger sister of Kakuzu. Her true age during Part II is 86 years old, however due to the effects of the Earth Grudge Fear she retains the physical state and appearance of a healthy and fit 19 year old.

Background

While living in Taki she was part of an experimental project to create the ultimate human weapon, known as Project TBS. Although the initials of TBS are unknown, it gained the nickname of 'Takigakrues biggest secret', a name that was also given to the projects only surviving subject, Hitomi. Not much is known about her parents as they died when she was very young, leaving her in the care of her older brother, Kakuzu. When Hitomi was born she was considered a suitable subject for the project and was later taken underground to begin the testing at 2 years old, her chances of survival had been listed as 30 percent. After surviving the first wave of the experiments, her survival due to an action from her father who was one of the shinobi working on the project, she was released from the secret underground testing unit and allowed to live with her brother at age 4. Due to her potential, and continued success rate throughout the experiments, she started the academy early at age 6, graduating two years later. Hitomi was not placed in a team and instead received training from her peers and Kakuzu.

At age 7 the Earth Grudge Fear kinjutsu that was placed inside her (the act that ultimately saved her) at the beginning of the testing is activated successfully, creating the specifically placed stitch-like marks on her body, a year later her Storm release is activated for the first time and later revealed to be linked to her emotions due to the experiments, she has no control over her emotions at this age.

While returning from a successful solo B-ranked mission at age 14, she fails to notice a trap and almost dies as a result, being saved by Kakuzu who was returning from his own mission, this is where she realizes her fear of death and trains harder to avoid the mistakes that could get her killed. She soon surpasses most of the shinobi her age and gains almost complete control over her unique storm release.

During another mission she fights against a ninja who uses chakra rods, upon defeating him she steals one of the Chakra rods, quickly learning how to change its size, she wears it as a bar in her right ear, using it as a chakra-conducting boa staff at its full height. At 18 she gains the rank of Jonin and is moved into the Elite division, posted alongside her brother.

When her brother returns from an assassination mission with an unsuccessful result, resulting in a harsh punishment, Hitomi becomes both angry and distraught at her brothers treatment after he risked his life for the mission, which caused a storm due to her unique storm release. Due to the destructive effects of her grief-stricken storm release she is placed in confinement to keep it under control and to undergo a new set of experiments to make it stronger so Takigakure can use it as a weapon. After her brothers defection from Takigakure, he returns to rescue her from project TBS, the project was shut down a few months later. While remaining with her brother as a

missing-nin she fights against an Uchiha, stealing his right eye after his defeat, where she gains the sharingans abilities, although she sometimes experiences flashbacks from the original owners life when activating it. A few years later she loses control over her storm release due to anger which results in her accidentally destroying a small civilian village, killing the majority of the inhabitants. Although she regretted her actions deeply, along with her brother they took some of the bodies to collect the bounty, using some for their hearts and selling the remaining bodies, this is what led Hitomi to becoming a bounty hunter similar to her brother. She is later separated from him, living and working alone, making a living collecting bounty and preforming assassinations, officially being ranked as an S-class ninja.

Eight years after her defection from Takigakure she goes missing, ANBU, Taki shinobi and even her brother, believe her to be dead. Her actions within this time are unknown.

Personality

Hitomi shares similar personality traits to her brother, she prefers to be alone since that is what she has been used to, having grown up in isolation due to experiments, with no parents or friends, preferring to be by herself possibly because she doesn't know how to interact with people. She is very quiet, and usually appears emotionally indifferent, although despite this she has a short temper, in contrast she is very kindhearted and holds empathy towards people who were shut out, or treated differently in a hurtful way, like Jinjurkis, she has been known to refuse to fight against Jinjurikis although never gives a reason.

She has a strong fear of dying which is what pushes her to become stronger and forces her to continue to collect hearts to prolong her life, even though she dislikes doing so. As well as her fear of death, she also has, what can be described as, a crippling fear of the dark, this fear is so strong that she will end battles or leave missions uncompleted if it is getting dark. She rarely preforms missions under the cover of darkness, although this fear has been known to work in her favour as most of her victims keep their guard up during the night and lower it during daylight hours. The only person who knows about these fears is her brother.

Appearance

Hitomi is a slender, well built kunoichi, despite her true age, she retains this balanced physique. She has tanned skin and dark brown hair which she wears longer at one side and cut short at the other, its longest length reaching her shoulder. In her youth her hair reached below her waist, it was later cut short on the left side when she entered the Elite division, the reason for this is believed to be because she has a stitch-like marking from the Earth Grudge Fear under her right eye and used her hair to cover this. She later uses her hair to cover the sharingan eye. Her left eye shares the same appearance as her brother with a green iris and no visible pupil with a red sclerae, while her right eye has a brown sharingan design (due to the fusion with her original green colour iris and the red sharingan) and grey-ish white sclerae. She has a large injury to the inside of her right thigh that is constantly wrapped in bandages, with deep bruising covering most of the inside of her thigh, this was an unnatural injury she obtained during the experiments and it has been unable to heal since.

She has stitch-like markings covering most of her body as a result from the Earth Grudge Fear, creating a 'rag doll' appearance, these stitches appear in specific locations on her body having them around her ankles, knees, around her hip, one running down her back from her neck to the base of her back, around her wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and one on her face under her right eye that stops halfway down her cheek.

Her outfit during Part II consists of fine black netting that covers her abdomen and chest, with a loose blue top, black knee length trousers with a white sash around the waist, black shinobi sandals with a portion of fine netting on the front of the foot. She wears her chakra rod in her right ear and always wears a golden medallion that was given to her by Kakuzu as a birthday present after she graduated from the academy, it has the Taki village symbol on the front, that now has a scar through the center with an inscription on the back with the phrase, If youre prepared, there wont be any sorrow

During the fourth Shinobi war she is seen wearing the standard Takigakure flak jacket, which she wore while in the Elite Division, a black 3/4 length sleeved shirt, black knee length trousers with her kunai pouch around her thigh and standard black shinobi sandals, she still wears her medallion and is seen wearing her brothers forehead protector around her upper right arm. Her hair is also longer due to events that happen prior to the war. 

Her appearance during The Last changes dramatically from her attire in Part II as she is seen wearing a sleeveless, dark blue dress, with black knee length leggings, a white apron skirt around her waist and standard black shinobi sandals. She wears a belt around her waist with a white pouch at the back, Kakuzus forehead protector is also attached to the belt at the back, she wears her kunai pouch more often and her hair is grown longer. She doesn;t wear her medallion as she passes it down to her adopted son, Katashi, although she is sometimes seen wearing it.

Abilities

Hitomi is regarded as a very able and dangerous kunoichi, having shown enough skill to earn the rank of Jonin and become a member of the elite division at 18. Due to the collection of hearts to prolong her life she is adapt in most nature transformation jutsus, and due to her unique storm release, she can easily place her opponents at a disadvantage by causing it to rain to work in her advantage, since her most powerful attacks use water and lightning release techniques. Despite being recognized as a dangerous opponent, winning all of her battles and completing all of her assassinations and missions thus far (with the exception of discontinued fights) she has stated that she would be unable to win against Kakuzu in a one on one battle.

The unnatural injury she obtained to her leg in her childhood is one of her main weaknesses, she has stated that if someone was to cut that area with a kunai or small weapon, she would be unable to fight and would likely be killed or detained by the opponent. Although due to its location on the inside of her thigh, it can be easily hidden and her kunai pouch and extra bandages would provide extra protection to the effected area. She developed an unknown illness that she did her best to hide from everyone, especially her brother, who was in the Akatsuki at the time it was confirmed. This illness caused periods of weakness where she was barely able to stand or even move, as well as coughing up large amounts of blood and causing a considerable amount of pain, although she later rids the two hearts that had been affected by this illness, although she still experiences pain, periods of weakness and coughing fits, however all of which are less dramatic than when she still had the diseased hearts, it is also possible that this disease will start spreading through her hearts again. Her second weakness is her soft heart, as she refuses to fight anyone who felt the way she did as a child or was misunderstood, or treated wrongly, although she has never voiced this, most people have noticed the pattern. 

Taijutsu

Hitomi has shown great skill in Taijutsu as it was the most common training her and Kakuzu practiced together, she is seen using her knowledge in conjunction with her Earth Release: Earth Spear technique and her chakra rod boa staff, able to wield her boa staff with grace and ease while withholding both the technique and powerful and fluid taijutsu attacks. Her natural strength combined with the Earth Release: Earth Spear, was shown to be strong enough to catch and withstand a direct blow from Tsunade without causing any noticeable movement or damage to Hitomi

Earth Grudge Fear

Like Kakuzu, most of her abilities worked around her body structure, which is composed of thick black threads that allowed her to separate certain parts of her body at will, with this ability she could attack long range and repair any flesh injuries she obtained from attacks. She could also use the threads for movement, creating a wave-like effect to lift her to high up or further areas. She also showed that she could use the technique to create large wing shapes from her back, capable of giving her aviation abilities with could give her a birds-eye view of an area, this aviation abilty was often used to gain information, or to map out an area, she often used this technique when researching villages to send back to her brother for the use of the Akatsuki. Despite being made almost completely of these threads she could still get injured and would still bled and bruised like a normal person. Although it hasn't been seen as of yet, she is able to use these threads to heal some injuries of others.

Nature Transformation

Due to her collected hearts this grants her with most elemental releases, the one she doesn't have being Fire Release, the collected hearts have also been known to supply her with more chakra. To tap into the different elemental properties of her hearts she simply connects her chakra circulatory system to her hearts, she never has more than five hearts at a time, one of which is her original heart. Her most perfected attacks revolved around her Water and Lightning release, followed by her Wind release and then finally her Earth release, which she very rarely used. Due to her Chakra rod, she can also circulate her chakra through the rod to create on-contact attacks, specifically with her Lightning release which she conducts through the length of the rod. Unlike her brother, she is unable to remove her hearts from her body once she collected and absorbed them, although she was able to change the location of each heart to avoid some attacks, although this required a short amount of time and was usually impractical.

Intelligence 

Hitomi was often always analyzing things, even when not fighting she would be planning out strategies in her head, this was due to her status in the elite division, her constant analyzing made her very good at assessing and adapting to different situations, although it sometimes lead to her over analyzing other things, such as conversations or certain memories. Due to her advanced age she is able to pick up changes in peoples chakra, as she was able to tell if someone was hostile when approaching her. She has been noted as very observant and sometimes notices things that most people have missed, after almost dying in her youth after failing to notice a trap she has always been extra careful, usually meaning she is aware of almost everything in her surrounding area.

Kekkei Genkai

Sharingan

Since her Sharingan was stolen, it had already been unlocked by its previous user when she obtained it, however it only took her a matter of weeks to master its abilities, although it appeared to cause her great pain the first time she activated it. It took her a year for her to be able to use its abilities for long periods of time without it effecting her chakra or health. Since the sharingan was always visible, even when not activated, it made it very difficult to tell if she was using it or not and the only separation between the sharingan and anyone around was her hair that fell in front of it. It was also reported to drain a tiny amount of chakra because it was constantly visible, although this loss of chakra was unnoticeable and didnt effect Hitomis performance.

Mangekyo Sharingan

When she was made aware of her brothers death she denied its truth at first, but once realizing that it was true, it caused her such pain and sadness that it unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan.

Her Mangekyo takes on a similar appearance to Sasukes, the sharingan takes on its usual red colour with the outer parts of the design turning black, the design is similar to a flower, with four thin petals touching the side of her iris and four larger petals that have a point-like design on the inside, one of the shapes on the petals remains the same colour brown that her original sharingan has.

Part I

At the end of Part I, Hitomi makes a short appearance when an ANBU team are searching through profiles, Hitomis profile can be seen sitting open on a desk in the room with an 'X' across her picture, marking her as 'deceased', before it cuts to a shadowed figure finishing a fight victorious, the silhouette leaves the scene, light hitting the face of the shadow to reveal Hitomi, very much alive after her disappearance and suspected death.

Part II

Kazekage Rescue Mission

Hitomi can be seen entering one of the bounty stations in the Land of Fire, conversing with Zangei, who gives her four profiles that he states hes been saving for her because the four shinobi have the best hearts, since she needs to replace her hearts and she doesn't do it frequently so the better condition the heart is in the better it is for her.

One of the shinobi profiles seen is for Gaara. Hitomi is later seen confronting Gaara, neither of whom are making an attempt to attack, Hitomi suddenly grimaces as an image fills her sharingan eye, she then realizes that her previous owner knew who the boy was, or made a connection from the memories of the original Sharingan user, she soon figures out he is a Jinjuriki by his chakra. When Gaara asks of her intention she states that she came here to kill him, but she then reveals that she no longer wants to, stating her reason for stepping down against him. She is later seen warning him of an impending attack on Suna before apologizing to him and disappearing swiftly before Gaara attempts to question, or catch her.

Hitomi is seen dragging three bodies back to Zangeis station, collecting the bounty and leaving. While moving through the forests she suddenly stops, gripping at her ribs in pain from the fourth heart that became damaged during a previous battle that was to have been replaced with Gaaras. She is later seen outside a small tea shop. A cloaked figure takes a seat next to her, causing her to pause her actions, seemingly surprised, the man beside her is revealed to be her brother, Kakuzu, who begins making light conversation with her, inquiring why she is here since the last time they saw each other would have been before her sudden disappearance, possibly briefly during her disappearance. She explains to him that she was unable to obtain a fourth heart, explaining that the fourth one she was unable to replace is starting to weaken, after Kakuzus states that she is weak, he then states that he will find another heart for her.

She is later seen sitting near Kakuzu and Hidan who are involved in the extraction of the Shukaku, although she is not aware of this and was simply told to wait for them as they would move in three days. Since she gets to be with her brother and she needs that fourth heart, she stays with them throughout the three day period.

Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission

Hitomi is seen to still be travelling with Kakuzu and Hidan, much to Hidans annoyance, even though he seems to get along better with Hitomi than he does with Kakuzu. When they stop to rest for the night, Hitomi quickly disappears into the water, stating that shes going swimming, when really she is using this as an excuse to hide her illness. While in the water she experiences her weak period but being in the water hides it easily as not only can she not be seen, but the water holds her until she regains her strength. Upon resurfacing she has assumed that the other two are resting, but is soon proved wrong as her brother questions her about the rumored illness that appears to be true. Despite Kakuzu knowing most of her fears, she seems scared that Kakuzu now knows about this illness, although it seems as though he knew the rumor was true as he seems to appear indifferent about it, simply questioning her about its truth.

Hitomi cautiously follows Kakuzu over to the camp they have set up since she went into the water, although as they approach the fire, he removes his cloak, placing it around Hitomis shoulders and taking a seat in front of the fire. She keeps her distance from him, although remains close enough to the light of the fire to not spark her fear of the dark that is around them. After she doesn't move Kakuzu warns her that she'll catch a cold if shes stays where she is, to which she remarks that he is acting like a 'caring brother', referring to the fact that he has changed since defecting from Takigakure and joining the Akatsuki and it has been years since she has seen him act this way, he simply tells her to sit down before he stops caring to which she silently complies. The next morning, Hidan complains that he found it difficult to sleep because the campfire was so bright, Hitomi soon realizes that the reason for this was because Kakuzu still remembered her fear of the dark and was subtly making sure she wouldn't be scared.

After Kakuzu finds a suitable heart for Hitomi to replace with that fourth one, they part ways. Hitomi is later seen at a festival in a nearby village, reminiscing about her childhood when her brother used to take her to festivals. She also appears to be aware that she is being watched by an ANBU member, deliberately staying within the constant group of people to avoid fighting with them and later uses the large crowd to lose them and move away from the village and her pursuer. She is shown meeting with Kakuzu and Hidan a few months later delivering information to them.

Akatsuki Surpression Mission

While resting next to a tree, she is awoken as she feels two familiar presences approaching. Kisame and Itachi appear before her, bring her the news of Kakuzus death. She asks them to take her to where he was killed to confirm that he is indeed dead.

They begin to lead her towards the scene but before they arrive there she notices something on the ground, upon closer inspection it is revealed to be Kakuzus forehead protector, Hitomi then realizes that he really is dead. Kisame and Itachi are forced to leave her be as she is overwhelmed with sadness from her brothers death that it causes a terrifying storm to fill the sky, sharp, strong winds start blowing and heavy rain starts to fall.

After the storm she caused finally begins to fade away she is later seen wandering through the large puddles of water her storm had created. Hitomi then comes to the decision to get rid of her original heart which will also rid her of the illness, or at least ease it, since her only family is now gone and she is still filled with sadness, she sees no point in keeping it, figuring out that even if she does lose her humanity or forget things, it might be for the best. Her fear of death does not effect her at this moment, as she will still have three hearts remaining so she assumes she will live long enough to replace the two hearts she is about to destroy. Hitomi then appears to be lying on the ground with two stab wounds made by her kunai, killing her original heart and a second one which the disease had spread to, as her consciousness fades she conjures the image of her younger self and her brother.

Upon waking she finds herself in an unfamiliar room, a young boy seeming to be watching over her.

He introduces himself as Katashi and tells her she is in the Village in the Clearing and that she was found by some shinobi from the village, who brought her back to the village to treat her because the wounds were self-inflicted. It is then revealed that she has been in a coma for a year and that Katashi has been the medical nin responsible for taking care of her. Hitomi remembers everything that happened before her coma and remains quite and cooperative while she is under the villages care, thankful to the shinobi who found her since she would have died had it not been for them, either from loosing blood or being killed by someone else. Her entire torso is appeared to be bandaged, her hair has grown longer and she wears a long black skirt, supposedly supplied by the village, she is also seen wearing a patch over her sharingan eye which is purely a precaution in case she was to activate it against the village. While being confined to her bed until her wounds heal fully and she can move without pain she notices the chakras of several ANBU nin surrounding the village. She is later told that the ANBU originally tried to take her from the village after learning that she was here, but the village refused and came to the agreement that she was to stay with them until she was healed but if she should attempt to harm anyone then she was to either be killed or handed over to the ANBU. 

She grows to enjoy the calm life of the small village during her time there, becoming close to most of the villagers, she is also seen training with Katashi who doesn't have a team since he is an outsider, like her, and the other kids don't like him, but since he has advanced medical abilities he stays within the village as a 'resident' medic, which is why he was assigned to watch over and heal Hitomi. Hitomi is later seen collecting medicinal herbs for the village on her own, although she stops as she hears a scream radiating from the village. When she returns to the village she is met with waves of fire completely covering the village, when she begins to fear that she is too late she senses Katashis chakra and sees that he is still alive although he appears to be surrounded by the enemy who are responsible for destroying the village. At the risk of her own life she jumps in to save Katashi, activating her mangekyo sharingan for the first time, managing to hold her strength long enough to save Katashi.

Power

Since Katashis only home is now destroyed Hitomi gives him the option to be taken to the nearest village, although he declines and chooses to stay with her, vowing to help her in any way he can since she risked her life to save his. Hitomi is later seen sparring with Katashi, telling him that if he wants to stay with her and have any chance of helping her, he needs to be stronger, her training appears to be rather relentless as she doesn't back off and continues even when he is past exhaustion.

Hitomi is seen congratulating Katashi on his improvements and he is finally allowed to rest. During this resting period they are approached by Kisame, who brings the news of the impending war, asking for her to join them, calling her 'a strong and valuable ally', unaware of their plan she agrees and both her and Katashi leave with Kisame.

Fourth Shinobi War: Countdown

Hitomi is seen wearing black clothing, preparing herself and Katashi for the war. She catches sight of Kabuto, immediately growing suspicious because of his previous connections with Orochimaru, and leaves Katashi alone in order to follow him. She enters the Akatsuki hideout, spying on him, when she sees him preforming the Impure World Reincarnation jutsu she becomes noticeably disgusted and intrigued. Although after seeing Kakuzu as one of the ones reincarnated she immediately leaves the hideout in a state of anger, a quick burst of lighting and thunder filling the sky from her sudden emotions. Hitomi meets back up with Katashi and they both leave. After gaining some distance from the Akatsuki she explains to a confused Katashi why they left after she originally agreed to side with them, this leads her to explaining everything about herself, her childhood, her brother and his death and finally explains what she saw in the hideout. When Katashi asks what they will do now, Hitomi confirms that they will fight against them.

Hitomi and Katashi can be seen approaching the Allied Shinobi Forces territory, upon entering she is immediately restrained due to her identity, which she calmly allows, although Katashi protests against this which results in him also being restrained. They are both taken to A, where she states her name and the title she was once given while serving in Taki as 'Hitomi of Takigakure, former member of the elite division, also known as Takigakures biggest secret'. After multiple hushed conversations, her request to join them is about to be denied when Gaara steps forward, recognizing her from their first encounter where she stepped down against him and gave him the vague warning of the Akatsukis attack, it is then decided to allow her, and Katashi, to join the Allied shinobi forces after hearing her reason for wanting to join them.

Fourth Shinobi War: Confrontation

Hitomi is first assigned to the First Division where she later comes face to face with her brothers reincarnation and the two battle each other, Kakuzu noting that she has grown stronger since the days they used to spar together as kids. Dark clouds begin to form as Hitomi feels sadness at the memory of her childhood and that her brother is truly dead and this is just his reincarnation, the clouds soon disperse showing that Hitomi has gained better control over her emotions. Their fight is stopped as Izumo and Kotetsu attack and Hitomi leaves to fight beside the others.

Hitomi is later seen in the medical tents, although she appears to have no visible injuries, Katashi is seen healing her sharingan eye. Although she has not used it during the war at this point, it is possible that it caused her some damage the first time she activated her Mangekyo and she is getting whatever damage was caused repaired so she can use it at its strongest.

Fourth Shinobi War: Climax

Hitomi is seen conversing with Obito after saving Naruto from an attack, who was one of the ones responsible for Kakuzus death, she tells Obito that the one she holds responsible for her brothers death is Obito, her comment appears to briefly anger him before he tells her that she is 'such a waste of a good kunoichi' because of her decision to fight against them. Hitomi is later seen using her unique storm release abilities to manipulate the rain and lightning. Katashi is also seen fighting but due to Katashi becoming disarmed, Hitomi breaks her chakra rod in half, giving one half to Katashi.

Later, Hitomi is given a letter that was found on Kakuzus body when he was given an autopsy by Lady Tsunade, the letter was addressed to her with a note on back instructing the letter was to be given to Hitomi in the event of Kakuzus death. The letter contained information about her parents, since they died when she was very young and she often asked Kakuzu about them, the letter also explained the events leading up to their deaths.

Epilogue

Years later, Hitomi is officially recognized as Katashi adopted mother and is living within Konoha, although she was questioned heavily to make sure she was loyal to the village she wanted to call her home, her efforts during the war didn't go unnoticed and she was soon cleared of suspicion. While under observation she became very close to Naruto, who was now the Seventh Hokage. After being deemed trust-worthy she becomes friends with most of the shinobi and she notes how everyone is so nice and accepting towards her, despite her past reputation, she also notes that she hasn't felt this happy in a long, long time.

While still working as a ninja, she also takes care of most of the children within the village, looking after them and sometimes training them when their parents are busy, she often joked that she was 'semi-retired'. Due to her friendship with Naruto and Hinata she often takes care of their children, Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki, Sakura also mentioned that she held a lot of trust in Hitomi and thus, took care of Sarada too. While helping Hinata with cleaning, Hinata asks what the children are like when Hitomi takes care of them, to which she jokingly responded that the hardest part was keeping Boruto and Sarada from fighting with each other and the longest she'd managed so far was ten minutes, Himawari enters the room to give both her mother and Hitomi a flower she picked from the garden and Hitomi whispers that Himawari is her favourite.

On Hitomis birthday, which she hasn't celebrated in a long long time, Katashi takes her to a nearby hill where most of her friends are waiting. Naruto, who is one of the ones there, explains to her what is going to happen and hesitantly, she agrees and watches the hill top, while the others back off behind her, disappearing into the surrounding trees. After a few minutes of waiting, three figures appear over the top of the hill, the figures are then revealed to be the spirits of Hitomis mother, Ageha, her father, Ikuto, and her brother, Kakuzu. They tell her that they only have a short amount of time to talk with her before telling her that they are proud of her and that they have always loved her, they then back off to allow Kakuzu to speak with his little sister. He tells her that he will always watch over her, and jokingly tells her not to take to long getting there so they can fight like they did when they were kids. Due to Hitomis tears from the family reunion, rain starts to fall. As their time starts to end they all embrace each other, Hitomis parents are the first to disappear and Hitomi is left tightly hugging Kakuzu, who tells her "everything will be alright, Little Hitomi", something he used to tell her often as a child, before he disappears too. Although it was never revealed to Hitomi, it is suspected that the short meeting was made possible by the Konoha ninja (Naruto, Sakura, etc etc) who were present at the time, somehow managing to strengthen the link between the spirits to make Hitomi able to say goodbye, and meet for the first time.

Hitomi later takes on a position at the academy briefly, before she becomes a sensai and takes on a team of her own, while still preforming her own missions and looking after the children of the village.

• Hitomis name means 'pupil of the eye' and 'wisdom, intellect'
• Kakuzu called her as 'Little Hitomi' because she was always smaller than him, and of course, younger
• Hitomis favourite flower is, ironically, the Cherry blossom, a flower that only blooms for a short amount of time and dies very quickly, symbolizing 'fleeting life and beauty'
• Hitomi is the second oldest shinobi whose age is known
• Hitomis birthday falls under the astrological sign Leo who rules the heart, which Hitomi collected in order to prolong her life
• Despite having opposing ideals, and being so similar to Kakuzu, Hitomi and Hidan got along together rather well and would probably have been good friends had their lives been different
• Hitomi disliked collecting hearts, and was actually quite freaked out by human organs
• Hitomi was allergic to sea water (salt water), which caused her skin to turn red on contact
• Hitomi will only drink Green tea, Jasmine tea or water
