Hana Tanaka (田中花, Tanaka Hana) is an OC/RPC created for the Naruto universe by Namariko. She is an Anbu-level Kunoichi and a member of Team Tsuri.
Background[]

Hana was born into a simple non-shinobi family. She lived alone with her mother. Her home village was small and near to the Great Taki Village. Because of its small population and short distance away from Takigakure, it earned the name "Little Taki." In the past war the village received help from the people of Takigakure. Many of them stayed here after the war. One of them was Hana's father. Even though the order has been restored, the village was still haunted by individual groups. Her father was one of the men who helped to stop the thugs from intimidating the villagers. This worked for a while, until a new group of thugs turned up. It turned out they were Shinobi funded by Gatō, who wanted to destabilize the country to spread his business to Takigakure. On this mission, her father and another man were betrayed by their teammates, who were bought out by Gatō. Her father was declared missing in action. Since then, Hana was left alone with her mother. Both of them moved to a new home, so they wouldn't be reminded of their loss.
One day Hana was listening to the old peoples' stories about the brave Taki-Shinobi which were fighting in the war to protect their brothers and sisters in the village. That inspired Hana to become a Shinobi herself. Although her dream was far away at this moment in time, also her mother did not want her to become a Shinobi because of the danger.
Hana often helped her mom with the garden, which she particular enjoyed doing, as it gave her time to think about bad and good things.
Later Hana and her team went to Konoha to participate in the Chūnin Exams.
Part I[]
Early in the series, Hana was an easily-impressed and bright young girl, who wanted to increase her knowledge and strength. Because of her small appearance, she was always limited in her taijutsu abilities. Since she had no one to help her, she had to learn everything by herself. Hana was somewhat of an outsider in the Taki-Academy, because she didn't have a family-tree full of shinobi, and was thus different from the other kids who had parents that could help them with their ninja abilities. Hana was often bullied and picked on for her lack of "Shinobi-blood" and the fact that her father was not a shinobi. Hana was also jealous of some students who possessed Kekkei Genkai and proudly talked about that. Not wanting to to be left out of the conversation Hana started to try and match or even outmatch their abilities. She also became somewhat obsessed with Hiden Ninjutsu. Yet she failed greatly at this time and became somewhat of a loner. And even after mastering the Blue Flame Art , she was still self-conscious about her abilities and doubted herself often, which often held her back from achieving her true potential.
Chūnin Exams[]
Hana met her teammates Takumi and Samui in Takigakure where she attended the Taki-Ninja-Academy. They later travelled to Konoha for the Chūnin-Exams.
Ibiki’s exam was hard for her, as she didn't have special skills for cheating. To her luck, she could answer most of the questions in the test with her own knowledge. But she did not really understand the real test.
The exam in the Forest of Death would not have been so hard if it was not for the feeling of being followed which gave her goosebumps. The plan was to split up in order to find the scroll faster, and then meet up after a specific amount of time. Her team mates Takumi and Samui found the scrolls without much trouble, but these were not the ones they needed. Hana, however, managed to find the one they needed. She discovered it lying on a fallen tree. Without listening to her gut feeling, Hana went for it, and fell right into a trap set up by Team Dosu, who cruelly wanted to make fun out of her misery because they were bored waiting for Sasuke. By having doubts about herself and this unbelievable situation she was currently in, Hana had to take a lot of abuse. Remembering her motivations to become a kunoichi, she could at last protect herself and even use some ninjutsu. While Team Dosu was surprised by her defense, Takumi and Samui arrived in time to get her away from danger. In the confusion and the dust of a Smoke Bombs Samui sent their way, the team successfully managed to steal the scroll away. Meanwhile, Shiore watched with interest in the darkness of the forest. Team Dosu later swore revenge for this disgrace. (...)
Both of her teammates as well as her sensei were killed during Orochimaru's Attack. After recovering from the invasion, Hana ultimately decided to stay in Konohagakure.
Search for Tsunade[]
Hana, Naruto and Jiraya came to Tsunade's aid. Kabuto had paralyzed Tsunade due to her fear of blood. While Jiraya battled Orochimaru, Naruto, Shizune and Hana are left to protect Tsunade.
Kabuto was more than capable of dealing with Naruto and Shizune, and after making quick work of them, he returned his attention back to Tsunade, whom Hana was guarding. Hana tried to protect Tsunade. Kabuto later tried to heal himself after being hit with Naruto's Rasengan, but the wounds were too extensive. Despite his injures, he managed to wound Naruto badly as well. Hana was afraid, but to Kabuto's surprise she was able to fight back quite fiercely.
Relationship with team 7 []

By lucky coincidence, Hana's apartment was near to Naruto's, and so they had already met some time before the Exams started. Hana appreciated knowing someone who could show her around the village. Naruto and Hana often hung around together, sometimes meeting at the roof of his apartment to eat ramen while looking up to the stars. Hana was quite timid and distant at this time, but Naruto's attitude helped her to open up faster to him.

Through the friendship with Naruto, Hana was able to meet Sakura and Sasuke. Hana quickly realized that Sasuke didn't appear like her at all, as he revealed that he thought she would be another millstone around the neck. Sakura liked Hana however, and even more she was very happy that she wasn't the only girl in the team anymore. Later Hana and Sasuke were sent on a mission together, due to the fact that their skills complimented each other.
Mission accomplished!
In truth it was for the sake of the team's cohesion. It was a rainy day and the two had an argument on the mission. They found a dry place in a cave, where they waited for the end of the rain. After a while the two began to talk and they actually found some stuff they had in common, which was that they both wanted to become stronger. Hana and Sasuke developed a friendly rivalry, similar to the one Naruto shared with Sasuke. The difference was that they had really good fighting countability and were almost invincible when fighting together, which helped them both to get stronger.
After Sasuke decided to go with Orochimaru, the friendly rivalry disappeared. Hana lost all respect for Sasuke because he did not want to become stronger on his own.
Personality[]
Hana's personality is defined by her distant nature. She sometimes appears to be deep in her thoughts, and not paying attention to the world around her. This is also the reason why she laughs and smiles at random times. She is shown to be creative. Hana frequently sets goals for herself, and she will work hard to accomplish them. However she prefers that her efforts remain private. This tendency only adds to her mystery and intrigue. She enjoys the supernatural. Her friends and family appreciate her loving personality, even though they are sometimes frustrated with the emotional distance she chooses to keep, like with her mother with which she barely has contact since she moved to Konohagakure. On the other hand, Hana has been shown to become easily depressed, as well as being uncooperative, unforgiving, selfish and unpredictable at times.
After Joining the Anbu, Hana became much more distant to everyone, which contributed to making her lonely.
Appearance[]

Hana has brown hair, blue eyes and lightly tanned skin. Hana places a high value on her looks, even trough she was seen wearing an array of simple clothing. As a genin, Hana wore a dark purple dress which consisted of two parts. The lower part of the dress was crested with a wave pattern, which indicates her love for the Land of Water. Hana wore a light lavender colored shirt beneath it. She had long ash-brown hair. A purple hooded coat is wrapped around her waist, she usually wears it on missions in rainy areas like in the Land of Waves. A black bracelet that looks like a prayer bead is located on her right hand, a similar silk rope is also worn around her waist. She was wearing a white and black striped hairband on her head which she later replaces with Forehead Protector. She wears bandages on both legs. Her shoes are normal ninja shoes, in a dark purple color.

In Part II, her main outfit consisted of a pink haori, a royal-blue ninja T-shirt with grid parts that go up to the elbow worn under the hiori. She wore low-heel boots, black shorts, as well as a grey short skirt and gloves which have metal plates on the backhand. Her hair was mostly tied into a long ponytail. Both of her ears are pierced with two earrings each. Her outfit was complemented with a large light pink flower in her hair. She also wore a necklace that has a similar pattern to Sharingan swirls, and continued to wear the same black bracelet from her genin years.
Her casual attire consists of a black pullover with high collar with swirls on the top of her upper arms, and simple black ninja pants. Both of her lower legs are bandaged, and a dark blue kunai holder is strapped around her right thigh. She wears purple ninja sandals.
Part II[]
Hana on a mission to eliminate enemies of Konohagakure.
Hana's character went trough a transformation in between Part I to Part II. She was shown to become more serious, and decided to join the Anbu. After long consideration, Tsunade decided to let Hana join the Anbu, although she still expressed doubt as to whether Hana wanted to join for the right reasons, or if only for validation of her usefulness. The fact that Hana and Naruto had helped in the fight against Kabuto was a considerable factor of letting her join. Shortly after joining, Hana started to undergo the standard Anbu training and went on her first missions.
Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission[]

Hana was sent by Tsunade to accompany Team Kakashi in their Mission to rescue Sasuke Uchiha. At this time Sakura and Naruto did not know that the mysterious Anbu agent accompanying them was Hana, as Hana barely spoke while wearing her Anbu mask, and she used a code name and usually stayed in the background. Eventually Sakura, Hana, Naruto and Yamato found out that Sai had given information about the true identities of the Anbu to Orochimaru. It was implied that Kabuto remembered Hana from the Chūnin Exams while he looked trough the papers. After finding Sai, they went searching for Sasuke in the hideout. Hana managed to protect Naruto who was low on Chakra, cutting through Orochimaru's Hidden Shadow Snake Hands with her Lightning Whip. Later on, she managed to deflect some of Sasuke's attacks, one of them ended in a lightning-arc which both of their swords have formed. Although being able to stand her own, she was shocked by the progress Sasuke has shown, and decided to train much more.
Last Mission[]

Later on Danzō appointed Hana to eliminate some Konoha elders in order to get nearer to his dream of becoming Hokage. He tried to persuade her to do this mission by lying to her about being unable to trust his own people anymore. And Although not being in Danzō's Root unit, Hana accepted the mission under the agreement of becoming a root ANBU when she comes back.
After the mission was accomplished, Danzō branded Hana a spy of Takigakure and sent a team to kill her. However, since Hana was new in the Anbu, she was underestimated by her assassins and thanks to the warning of her Summon who has eyes and ears everywhere, she could flee. Since then Hana has become a Missing-nin, but the Fifth Hokage decided not to pursue her as a criminal.
After fighting off some of the ninjas who chased her, she got stronger. Although running away the entire time has affected her stability.
After an indefinite amount of time time, Hana went back and stayed in a lesser-known village and was later found by Sasuke who now was with Team Taka.

Abilities[]
Hana's is really fascinated by ninjutsu, and after much training she could finally compete with the other genin in her age. She was not really interested in the normal school studying, as she wanted to learn stuff that she can apply in a fight. She loves to watch other Shinobi fight, and she thinks that she can learn a lot out of observing different fighting styles and also better predict the tricks of possible enemies. Hana usually tries to use the environment to her advantage as much as possible.
After spending time with Team 7 Hana has observed some of their training methods and found out that she and Sasuke had similar Nature Types. Then she learned to develop her Lightning-Release and Fire-Release techniques. And even after years in between Part I and Part II, they still had similar development in their abilities due to the time she spent training under the Anbu. In Part II Hana was able to burn big areas and invoke powerful lightning.
During her exile, Hana had to fight some powerful Shinobi, which ultimately gave her more experience. This also came with learning new jutsu, some of which were forbidden. She also possesses some Hero Water from her home Takigakure, which can increase Chakra immensely, but she chooses to use in an emergency only.
Blue Flame Art[]

Blue Flame Art (青い火技, Aoi Hiwaza) can be described as an advanced style of Fire Release. It is not clear if this technique is a Hiden-Jutsu or a Kekkei Genkai. The blue flames are characterized by their explosive power and intense heat.
Scientifically speaking, blue fire is the hottest natural occurring fire, as it occurs in the hottest parts of a flame. While Water Release can extinguish the blue fire, it would take a rather massive amount of it. It is possible to form theflames into animals like snakes, lions, dragons etc.
Medical Ninjutsu[]
Her knowledge about medicine is limited to the basics. But after own injuries in the past, Hana had shown herself to be able to heal small injuries with moderate effort.
Nature Transformation[]
Hana is particularly skilled in Fire Release followed by Lightning Release techniques, which she can use in a similar way to Sasuke, because she can create purple electricity. Hana was skilled enough in Fire Release to use the Blue Fire Art technique. She is less advanced in Water Release, although she improved a lot in between Part I and Part II, since then she was shown to be able to use more advanced jutsu like the Water Release: Water Severing Wave. Coming from the Land of Water, Hana learned to stay underwater for quite a while. Usually Hana analyses and uses her surroundings to her advantage. In areas with water Hana rather relies on her Lightning Release. Hana's ninjutsu that have anything to do with dragons like her Blue Flame Art: Azure Dragon, Lightning Release: Dragon Strike and Water Release: Dragon Bullet, have become her trademark. If she has to use taijutsu, Hana chooses to combine it with the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, but if possible she much rather fights from a distance.
