The Couple
Cindei, (シンデイ) is the Japanese term used to refer to the romantic relationship between Cindy Minamoto and Deidara.
Their Relationship
Part I
Chūnin exam Arc
Cindy threatens to kill Deidara
Cindy and Deidara met first during the Chūnin exams in Iwagakure. Cindy came to Iwa with her Sensei Anko Mitarashi. She was a bit scared and wondered if she will be able to beat her opponents. Anko reassured her and told her that everything will be fine. When they reached Iwa's ninja academy, Anko let Cindy alone. Cindy saw a group of boys and went to meet them. Deidara was part of them. He saw Konoha's sign on her headband and started making fun of Konoha's shinobi saying they were weak and pitiful. Cindy got angry and smashed him on the ground saying she will kill him if he doesn't shut up.

During the exam, after Cindy won her fight against Kurotsuchi, the Tsuchikage's grand-daughter and Iwa's best Genin, Deidara was impressed and apologised to have made fun of her. She smiled and told him it's fine. A while after, Anko came to take Deidara and Cindy to the Tsuchikage. When they were in his office, the Tsuchikage told that Deidara had to stay with Cindy because he doesn't trust Konoha. Deidara accepted the mission telling that he was the best suited for this, so they went to train and spent time with each other. They didn't know they were going to have affection for each other. They quickly became friends and discovered they had many things in common. They loved spending time with each other. When Anko received a letter telling that their mission is over and they can go back, she went to tell Cindy about this. They had to leave the next day. The night before she sneaked out of her room and went to meet Deidara. They talked and told each other the things they would've liked to do before leaving each other. The next day, before Cindy leaves, Deidara stopped her and gave her a clay spider as a gift so she remembers him sometimes.

She thanked him and hugged him telling that she promises they will see each other again. They seperate with broken heart. Deidara often looks at a photo in a frame where he is with Cindy nostalgic about the days they were togheter. A few years later, Deidara joined Akatsuki and Cindy left Konoha to follow Sasuke because of the promise she made to Itachi to look after him.
