Chōmushi (腸虫, Chōmushi) is a worm and the personal summon of the missing-nin Ryuu Toshiro. It resides in the Demon Desert, in the Land of Wind.
Background[]
At some point in time, Chōmushi attacked the Village Hidden by Sand, during the reign of the First Kazekage: Reto, causing significant material damage and killing countless citizens and shinobi. Yet, it was sealed and eventually released in the Demon Desert. Years later, it was tamed by Ryuu Toshiro, possessor of the Acid Release kekkei genkai and became his personal summon.
Personality[]
A quite unique summon, Chōmushi can be described as short-tempered and vigilant. After being tamed by Ryuu, it accepted its defeat to him, following every order he gives. He also has a kind of respect for his master and tend to protect him when he is in danger.
Appearance[]
It is a bright red worm with a wide body that is almost 1500 cm long. The summon can easily tower over buildings, trees and large rock formations. Chōmushi has a large mouth equipped with four long fangs. It does not have any nose, eyes, ears, or hands to gather sensory information about its surroundings. Instead, the summon depends on the sensory receptors in its skin to "feel" its way through the soil. Chōmushi has a cylindrical body shape and it is covered in a slippery substance which helps its body to move.
Abilities[]
Chōmushi has the ability to secrete a corrosive yellow acid through its skin and to generate blasts of electricity. Despite not having ears and being incapable to speak, Chōmushi is capable to understand its master.
Trivia[]
- "Chōmushi" (腸虫) means "large intestine worm" a reference to its blood-like color and lenght.
- The summon it is inspired from the legend of the Mongolian death worm, a creature reported to exist in the Gobi Desert.
- It prefers fresh meat and has a diet based on giant scorpions and ants.
