Multiple doors rise from the ground around an opponent. The user then runs around to each door and thrusts them open. A loud animal cry is emitted that disorients the opponent. Each door makes a different sound that builds on the others.

Some of the doors include the Door of the Birds (鳥門, Torimon; literally "Bird Gate"), the Door of the Wolf (狼門, Rōmon; literally "Wolf Gate"), and the Door of the Lion (師子門, Shishimon; literally "Lion Gate").

The Door of the Birds is usually the first door opened, regardless of how many the user opens. This is because it has a secondary effect of silencing the wind and other outside noises to increase the genjutsu effects.

Trivia

  • The extra effect for the bird door is based off of a line in a poem from the Dark Is Rising book series. "On the day of the dead, when the year too dies, Must the youngest open the oldest hills Through the door of the birds, where the breeze breaks."
